Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the authentix account authenticity evaluation service available at authentix-account.com (the “Service”), operated by Dovewood Capital, LLC, a Texas limited liability company d/b/a authentix (“authentix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service does — and does not do
The Service evaluates a publicly identified X (formerly Twitter) account using signals derived from data made available through the X API, and returns a score, a decision classification, and a confidence rating. If an evaluation meets our approval threshold, the Service may issue a one-time verification credential that a third party can later submit for verification.
Affirmative disclosure approval is required before an evaluation. An authenticated user must affirmatively approve the then-current Privacy Policy, these Terms, and the Disclaimer through the Service before an evaluation may be performed. The approval is recorded with the disclosure versions in effect at the time of approval. If a disclosure version changes, renewed approval is required before a subsequent evaluation. This approval requirement does not change the automated nature, limitations, or prohibited uses of the Service.
The Service does not verify a person’s real-world identity. It does not confirm who controls an X account, does not perform any form of Know Your Customer (KYC) screening or identity-document verification, and its output is not a legal or factual determination of authenticity, trustworthiness, or good standing. The evaluation reflects an automated, inferential assessment of publicly observable account signals as of the time of evaluation, and may be wrong, outdated, or based on incomplete information.
The evaluation may retain a public activity corpus. authentix may store the public posts returned for the history window you chose (30 days, 100 days or full history, as the account’s age allows) together with timestamps, references, text, and public engagement metrics. Eligible users may also receive an AI-generated interpretation based on the stored evaluation evidence. That interpretation does not change the AAE-1.0 score or its methodology. Automated readings, including an assessment by the Grok model from xAI, are part of the final score, as described in Final score. The text of posts and the pictures attached to them are sent to xAI for these readings (see the Privacy Policy).
Checking other accounts. You may check your own X account or, for a lawful purpose, someone else’s public X account. Before checking an account that isn’t your own you must say why and confirm the attestation shown, as described in section 3 and the Privacy Policy. Authorized administrators may also check any account.
2. Prohibited uses — eligibility decisions
You may not use the Service, and may not permit or instruct anyone else to use any output of the Service (including an evaluation score, decision, or verification credential), in whole or in part, and even as only one factor, to determine or influence a person’s eligibility for employment, promotion, reassignment or retention, credit, insurance, housing/tenancy, education, health care, essential government services, or any other purpose that would cause the output to constitute a “consumer report” under the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or a similar law in any other jurisdiction. The Service is not designed, maintained, or intended to be used as a consumer reporting product, and we make no representation that it satisfies the accuracy, dispute, or procedural requirements applicable to such products. Using the Service for a purpose prohibited by this section is a material breach of these Terms. We do not offer the Service for regulated screening or eligibility decisions.
You must not use the Service to identify an anonymous account operator, locate or track a person, expose private information, infer sensitive personal characteristics, stalk, harass, threaten, discriminate against, or organize targeting of anyone. You must not represent an automated assessment as a verified accusation or as proof of criminal or other wrongful conduct, or use a report to pressure an account holder to pay for removal, correction or a different result. We may refuse a request or pause new purchases when there are reasonable indications of prohibited use. Privacy requests, good-faith complaints, refund requests, arbitration opt-outs, lawful legal claims and reports to regulators are never, by themselves, abuse or grounds for suspension.
3. Acceptable use
To check an account that isn’t your own, you must say why and confirm a lawful purpose. Never use authentix to stalk, harass, threaten or locate anyone.
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, stalk, dox, threaten, locate, discriminate against, or intimidate any individual, including the holder of an evaluated X account (see section 21);
- Evaluate accounts at a scale or frequency intended to circumvent rate limits or gather data in bulk;
- Misrepresent a verification credential as an official, governmental, or legally binding attestation of identity;
- Violate X’s Developer Agreement, Developer Policy, or Terms of Service in connection with your use of the Service; or
- Violate any applicable law.
4. Verification credentials and relying parties
A verification credential issued by the Service is a single-use, time-limited token tied to a specific evaluation. It expires 15 minutes after it is issued or as soon as it is used, whichever comes first. A credential confirms that an evaluation occurred and produced that result at that time; it does not establish that the result is correct. If you receive a credential from someone else and submit it to us for verification, we will return the associated evaluation’s username, X user ID, score, decision, and confidence rating. You acknowledge that this information originates from an automated evaluation and not from any relationship between you and the evaluated account holder, and that you rely on it at your own risk. authentix is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any decision or action a relying party takes based on a verified credential.
5. Accounts and payment
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service, and you confirm this before each purchase. The Service offers one report. Every report includes every feature of the Service; no feature is sold separately or at an additional charge. The price of a check depends on how active the checked account is and is shown for that account before you pay, as described on authentix-account.com at the time of use. Pricing is subject to change; material changes will be reflected on the pricing page. Our prices include a commercial margin; they are not a reimbursement of our costs. Each purchase is for one check and is not a subscription, and you are never charged more than the total you authorize without your separate approval. Before you pay, the price window shows the account’s handle and X account ID, the history window and the dates it covers, what is included, the total with sales tax, and how long the report is kept.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT EVALUATIONS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. THE SERVICE DEPENDS ON THE X API, WHICH WE DO NOT CONTROL AND WHICH MAY CHANGE, BECOME UNAVAILABLE, OR BE RESTRICTED AT ANY TIME.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, authentix AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, authentix IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO, INCLUDING A PERSON OR ACCOUNT YOU CHECK, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT OUR OWN NEGLIGENCE OR MISCONDUCT CAUSED THE HARM (SEE SECTION 23). OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR CHECKS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). REFUNDS DO NOT REDUCE THIS AMOUNT. THIS LIMIT DOES NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY FOR OUR FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, TO DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, TO OUR OBLIGATIONS UNDER PRIVACY OR CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS, OR TO ANY REMEDY THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE LIMITED. THESE LIMITS APPLY ONLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW (SEE SECTION 26).
8. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless authentix and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates from any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine or cost, including reasonable attorneys’ fees (including a claim by a person or account you checked), to the extent it arises from your misuse of the Service or any result, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone’s rights, including any use prohibited under sections 2, 3 or 21. This applies only to the extent the claim is caused by your own misuse, breach or violation. You do not have to indemnify us for any claim to the extent it is caused by our own negligence, misconduct or breach of these Terms, by the way the Service itself works or what a report says when you used it as permitted, or by our own duties under law, including privacy, consumer protection and data-protection laws. We will tell you promptly about a claim covered by this section, let you take part in or (with counsel reasonably acceptable to us) control its defense, and not settle it in a way that admits fault for you or requires a payment from you without your written consent. A person or account you checked has not agreed to these Terms, and this section does not limit their rights against us.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its underlying methodology, scoring logic, and software, is the property of Dovewood Capital, LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to the Service beyond the limited right to use it as intended.
10. Suspension, blocking and ending these Terms
You can stop at any time. You may end this agreement by no longer using the Service. You can delete a reading from your history at any time. There is no self-service account deletion: to have your account deleted, send a “Delete my authentix account” request with the privacy request form or contact us (see the Privacy Policy for what is kept and why).
When we may act. We may limit, suspend or block your account, or stop providing all or part of the Service to you, if we reasonably believe that: (a) you broke these Terms, including the acceptable-use rules in sections 2, 3 and 21 or the conduct rules in section 27; (b) you threatened anyone, tried to find or expose someone’s private information or location, or used a result to harass anyone; (c) a payment was fraudulent, for example a stolen card or a false chargeback; (d) you tried to break, overload or get around the Service or its limits; (e) your use creates legal risk for authentix or others, or the law requires it; or (f) we can no longer reasonably offer the Service to you. We decide case by case, considering what happened and how serious it was.
Who decides. Every block is decided by the owner of authentix after reviewing the record, including the full conversation with the help chat. The help chat never blocks an account. While a threat or a fraud signal is reviewed, new purchases on the account may be paused; sign-in still works.
What a block means. A blocked account can still sign in and view its history and the reports it paid for, but can’t get new quotes or run checks. Refunds for checks already paid follow section 16. We may keep records of the block and the reasons for it, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Notice and appeal. We’ll make reasonable efforts to tell you by email, or the next time you sign in, unless the law or safety prevents it. You can appeal from your history with “Appeal block”; tell us what happened. The owner reads every appeal and may lift the block.
Our responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, authentix isn’t liable to you for a suspension, block or ending of the Service made in good faith under this section. This doesn’t limit a refund you’re owed under section 16 or any right in section 26.
What continues. Sections that by their nature should continue after the Service ends for you continue, including sections 6 to 9, 11, 16, 19 to 26 and this section (warranties, liability, indemnity, intellectual property, governing law, refunds and payment obligations, restrictions on use, your responsibility, arbitration and the class-action waiver, and rights the law does not let us limit).
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration as described in section 24. Any claim that section 24 allows in court (or that goes to court because you opted out or section 24 doesn’t apply) will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
12. Evidence view
The evidence view is an automated, informational summary of public information. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It is not a determination of who an account belongs to, whether it is authentic, what its owner intends, or whether anyone has done anything wrong. Do not use it, even as one factor, in any decision about a person’s employment, credit, housing, insurance, education or other eligibility (see section 2), and do not rely on it for legal matters.
Every check can be run on any public account you choose and includes every part of the evidence view. Each check is priced for the account it runs on, as described in Pricing per account. Do not use the evidence view to harass, threaten, expose or target anyone. You are responsible for using results about other peoples accounts lawfully. Information from X is also subject to the terms that apply to X content. A recheck is a new check of the same account using current information from X; it is priced and paid for like any other check, and its result shows what changed since the earlier check. We may decline or stop a check that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the service.
13. Automated reading scores
Automated reading scores (authenticity, credibility, behavior, conversation context, alignment, language and pictures) are generated by artificial intelligence from public content. They are opinions, not facts or findings about any person, they can be wrong or inconsistent between checks, and they are provided for information only. The restrictions on reliance and use in the Evidence view section apply to them in full.
14. Pricing per account
Each check is priced for the account it will run on, based on the expected cost of checking that account, and the price is shown before you pay. A paid check can be used once, only for the account it was priced for, and includes every part of the evidence view. A price is valid until midnight Central Time on the day it was given, and that price is held for you until then: it won’t go up, and if the price for that account goes down before you pay, you pay the lower price. Prices can differ between accounts and change over time. Getting a price does not run a check.
Extra price checks. The first 3 price checks you make each day (Central Time) are free. Each further price check that has to read new data from X is an “extra price check”: what it actually cost us to read that data (usually about $0.03) is added to the next new price you are given, and the price window shows it (for example, “Includes $0.14 for 4 extra price checks”). We grow that amount only enough to cover sales tax and the card fee on it, and never add more than $1.50 to one price. You pay it only if you buy that check; it is charged once and is then cleared. A price check for an account priced in the last 7 days reuses that data and is not an extra price check. Prices already given are held as described above and never go up because of extra price checks. To prevent abuse we also limit price checks each day: 30 if you have bought a check before, 10 if you have not, 5 on your first day after signing up, and 40 from one network. These limits and amounts may change; the price window always shows what applies before you pay.
15. Final score
The final score shown for a check is calculated by automated systems. Part of it is an artificial-intelligence assessment by the Grok model from xAI, and the rest combines the account profile score, the evidence score for the history window you chose and the automated reading scores, each counted according to how confident it is, including automated readings of whether pictures were generated or altered by artificial intelligence. Information that is missing or cannot be read earns no points and lowers the final score, so an account that shares little publicly, or whose information X does not return, can score lower for that reason alone. The final score is described by one of six conclusions (Looks genuine, Mostly checks out, Mixed signals, Hard to verify, Warning signs found, Too new to tell), each shown with the reasons behind it. The final score and its conclusion are automated opinions and not facts or findings about any person. It can be wrong, and it can differ between checks of the same account as the account and the automated readings change.
The final score can differ from the AAE-1.0 score. Verification credentials are issued and verified only on the AAE-1.0 result. The restrictions on reliance and use in the Evidence view section apply to the final score in full.
16. All sales are final
All sales are final, except as stated here and where the law requires otherwise. If part of a paid check cannot be completed, for example pictures that could not be read, the full cost of that part, including the sales tax on it, is refunded automatically and immediately when the check finishes, to the card you paid with. Banks typically take 5-10 business days to show the refund. Each picture gets one AI reading attempt and is never sent again.
Refunds reviewed by the owner. Apart from the automatic picture refunds above, a refund may be given, to the card you paid with and never above what you paid, when our own records show that: (a) the paid check failed or never finished; (b) the same check was charged more than once; (c) you were charged more than the quoted price; (d) we checked a different account than the one you paid for; (e) the report is still missing sections after it was run again; (f) the account became protected, suspended or deleted between the quote and the check (a partial refund, amount decided by the owner); or (g) X returned much less history than the window you paid for (a partial refund, in proportion to what was missing). Refund requests go to the owner through support handoff (the message-the-owner option in the help chat, or email); the help chat cannot issue refunds or block accounts. The owner verifies every claim against our records (never on a statement alone) before a refund, including sales tax, is issued. Human review verifies a claim; it does not make a refund that is owed under this section optional. Not refundable: disagreeing with a score or finding; a wrong account that you typed and confirmed; or a change of mind after the report was delivered. This does not restrict any remedy for an inaccurate product description, our material error, nonperformance or an unauthorized charge, or any right that applicable law or card-dispute procedures provide. This applies to every purchase made through the Service, including every paid check. The price of a check is shown before you pay, and by paying you agree that the purchase is final apart from the automatic picture refunds and the reviewed refunds described above.
17. Keeping or deleting a reading
After each reading you can save a copy on your own device, delete the reading now, or do neither, in which case it stays in your history for 90 days, or until you delete it if that is sooner, and is then deleted automatically. Deleting a reading is permanent and removes it and the evidence stored about it from our servers, except payment records, which we keep, and except while a legal or investigative retention hold applies. The records of what you agreed to (consent and checkout confirmations) are kept separately and are not deleted with a reading. The Privacy Policy describes every retention period. A copy saved on your device stays only in your browser, is not sent to us, and is not accessed by us without your explicit written consent; you are responsible for the security of your own device and browser. Details are in the Privacy Policy under Keeping or deleting a reading.
18. What prompted a check
You may say what prompted a check of another account and add a short note. You must give this honestly and must not use it to harass anyone or to include personal information about others. The answers in your report are automated opinions about the public evidence read in that check and not findings about any person, and your selection does not change the score or the conclusion.
19. Results are opinions, not facts
Every score, verdict, finding and explanation authentix gives is an automated opinion based on public information at one moment in time. It is not a statement of fact about anyone, not a finding that anyone did anything wrong, and not proof of who runs an account. Results can be wrong. Use them as one input among many, and check anything important yourself.
This report is for informational and educational purposes only. It describes signals in public data and does not label, accuse or make claims about any person.
20. Not a consumer reporting agency
authentix is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or similar laws. You may not use any result to decide whether someone is eligible for a job, credit, insurance, housing or any other purpose covered by the FCRA (see section 2).
21. Prohibited uses
In addition to section 3, you may not use authentix or any result to: stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, bully or locate anyone; dox anyone or publish their personal information; discriminate against anyone, including on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability or any other protected trait; make an FCRA-covered eligibility decision; publicly accuse anyone of a crime or wrongdoing based on a result; or break any law. We may suspend accounts, refuse checks and keep records of misuse (see section 3 and the Privacy Policy).
22. Information from X and other sources
Results depend on information from X and other third parties, including AI providers such as xAI. We don’t control that information and don’t promise it is accurate, complete, current or available. Accounts and posts can change or disappear after a check.
23. Your responsibility and assumption of risk
You are solely responsible for how you use any result and for every decision or action you take based on it, including whether to trust, meet, pay, date, contact, report or avoid anyone. You use results at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risks of meeting, dealing with or relying on any person or account, whether online or in person.
A result is an assessment of public information, not a guarantee about anyone. To the extent permitted by law, authentix is not responsible for the acts of any person or account you check or deal with, or for harm caused by anyone else’s use of information obtained through authentix, except to the extent our own negligence or misconduct caused it. Nothing in this section limits a claim you may bring under section 24 or a right described in section 26.
24. Arbitration, class action waiver and jury waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights. You and authentix agree to resolve any dispute arising from or relating to authentix, these Terms or any result by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except as stated below. The arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator, and is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Fees are paid as those rules provide. The arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live, or in Tarrant County, Texas.
Class action and jury waiver. You and authentix may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. You and authentix each waive any right to a jury trial.
Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property or of the Service.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing kellyhorak@authentix-account.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with your name, your X handle and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn’t affect the rest of these Terms. If this section is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to the courts named in section 11, and the class action waiver still applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.
25. Severability, waiver and entire agreement
If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, it will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law and the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a part of these Terms isn’t a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer are the whole agreement between you and authentix about the Service.
26. Rights the law doesn’t let us limit
Some laws don’t allow certain warranty exclusions, damage limits, releases or waivers, or protect consumers in ways a contract can’t change. Where that applies, our protections apply only to the fullest extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our own negligence where the law forbids that limit, or any other right you have that cannot be waived by law.
27. Help chat, conduct and account suspension
Support is a text help chat (the ? button); it has no voice and never uses your microphone. It explains the Service and your own reports, and can explain the refund cases in section All sales are final. Refund requests go to the owner through support handoff; the help chat cannot issue refunds or block accounts. Dissatisfaction with a score or report, a handle you confirmed yourself, or a change of mind is not a refund reason. The help chat never accepts terms, submits forms or makes payments for you.
Please keep conversations respectful. Abusive language gets a polite warning each time; after three warnings, the next one ends the conversation. Repeatedly using the help chat for things unrelated to authentix is handled the same way. Threats of violence, attempts to find or expose someone’s private information or location, and statements about self-harm end the conversation at once (for self-harm, the help chat first gives the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). An ended conversation, or one you ask the owner to review, is sent to the owner by email with its transcript and any contact details you chose to leave. See the Privacy Policy for how long these are kept.
Account blocking. The help chat never blocks an account. A threat, fraud signal, attempt to break the Service, or a second conversation ended under these rules within 30 days is sent to the owner, who decides under section 10. A legal complaint or claim never ends a conversation or counts against you: the help chat passes it to the owner for human review.
28. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we change the disclosure version above and ask you to approve the new version before your next check. Every revision is listed, with its date and time, in the legal change log, and earlier versions are kept in the legal archive.
