Terms of Service

Effective date: October 15, 2026 · Last updated: October 15, 2026 · Disclosure version: 2026-10-15-v6

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the authentix account authenticity evaluation service available at authentix-account.com (the “Service”), operated by Dovewood Capital, LLC, a Texas limited liability company d/b/a authentix (“authentix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service does — and does not do

The Service evaluates a publicly identified X (formerly Twitter) account using signals derived from data made available through the X API, and returns a score, a decision classification, and a confidence rating. If an evaluation meets our approval threshold, the Service may issue a one-time verification credential that a third party can later submit for verification.

Affirmative disclosure approval is required before an evaluation. An authenticated user must affirmatively approve the then-current Privacy Policy, these Terms, and the Disclaimer through the Service before an evaluation may be performed. The approval is recorded with the disclosure versions in effect at the time of approval. If a disclosure version changes, renewed approval is required before a subsequent evaluation. This approval requirement does not change the automated nature, limitations, or prohibited uses of the Service.

The Service does not verify a person’s real-world identity. It does not confirm who controls an X account, does not perform any form of Know Your Customer (KYC) screening or identity-document verification, and its output is not a legal or factual determination of authenticity, trustworthiness, or good standing. The evaluation reflects an automated, inferential assessment of publicly observable account signals as of the time of evaluation, and may be wrong, outdated, or based on incomplete information.

The evaluation may retain a 30-day public activity corpus. authentix may store the public posts returned for the evaluation period together with timestamps, references, text, and public engagement metrics. Eligible users may also receive an AI-generated interpretation based on the stored evaluation evidence. That interpretation does not change the AAE-1.0 score or its methodology. Automated readings, including an assessment by the Grok model from xAI, are part of the final score, as described in Final score.

Checking other accounts. You may check your own X account or, for a lawful purpose, someone else’s public X account. Before checking an account that isn’t your own you must say why and confirm the attestation shown, as described in section 3 and the Privacy Policy. Authorized administrators may also check any account.

2. Prohibited uses — eligibility decisions

You may not use the Service, and may not permit or instruct anyone else to use any output of the Service (including an evaluation score, decision, or verification credential), as a factor in any decision regarding a person’s eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing/tenancy, or any other purpose that would cause the output to constitute a “consumer report” under the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or a similar law in any other jurisdiction. The Service is not designed, maintained, or intended to be used as a consumer reporting product, and we make no representation that it satisfies the accuracy, dispute, or procedural requirements applicable to such products. Using the Service for a purpose prohibited by this section is a material breach of these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

To check an account that isn’t your own, you must say why and confirm a lawful purpose. Never use authentix to stalk, harass, threaten or locate anyone.

You agree not to use the Service to:

4. Verification credentials and relying parties

A verification credential issued by the Service is a single-use, time-limited token tied to a specific evaluation. If you receive a credential from someone else and submit it to us for verification, we will return the associated evaluation’s username, X user ID, score, decision, and confidence rating. You acknowledge that this information originates from an automated evaluation and not from any relationship between you and the evaluated account holder, and that you rely on it at your own risk. authentix is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any decision or action a relying party takes based on a verified credential.

5. Accounts and payment

The Service offers one report. Every report includes every feature of the Service; no feature is sold separately or at an additional charge. The price of a check depends on how active the checked account is and is shown for that account before you pay, as described on authentix-account.com at the time of use. Pricing is subject to change; material changes will be reflected on the pricing page.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT EVALUATIONS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. THE SERVICE DEPENDS ON THE X API, WHICH WE DO NOT CONTROL AND WHICH MAY CHANGE, BECOME UNAVAILABLE, OR BE RESTRICTED AT ANY TIME.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, authentix AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, authentix IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY HARM CAUSED BY YOU, A PERSON OR ACCOUNT YOU CHECK, OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING VIOLENCE, PHYSICAL INJURY, HARASSMENT, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, OR FINANCIAL LOSS (SEE SECTION 23). OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR CHECKS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, LESS ANY REFUNDS. THESE LIMITS APPLY ONLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW (SEE SECTION 26).

8. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless authentix and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine or cost, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, brought by you or any third party (including a person or account you checked) arising from or related to your use or misuse of the Service or any result, any decision or action you take based on a result, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone’s rights, including any use prohibited under sections 2, 3 or 21.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its underlying methodology, scoring logic, and software, is the property of Dovewood Capital, LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to the Service beyond the limited right to use it as intended.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration as described in section 24. Any claim that section 24 allows in court (or that goes to court because you opted out or section 24 doesn’t apply) will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

12. Evidence view

The evidence view is an automated, informational summary of public information. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It is not a determination of who an account belongs to, whether it is authentic, what its owner intends, or whether anyone has done anything wrong. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision that affects a person, including decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, education or legal matters.

Every check can be run on any public account you choose and includes every part of the evidence view. Each check is priced for the account it runs on, as described in Pricing per account. Do not use the evidence view to harass, threaten, expose or target anyone. You are responsible for using results about other peoples accounts lawfully. Information from X is also subject to the terms that apply to X content. A recheck is a new check of the same account using current information from X; it is priced and paid for like any other check, and its result shows what changed since the earlier check. We may decline or stop a check that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the service.

13. Automated reading scores

Automated reading scores (authenticity, credibility, behavior, conversation context, alignment, language and pictures) are generated by artificial intelligence from public content. They are opinions, not facts or findings about any person, they can be wrong or inconsistent between checks, and they are provided for information only. The restrictions on reliance and use in the Evidence view section apply to them in full.

14. Pricing per account

Each check is priced for the account it will run on, based on the expected cost of checking that account, and the price is shown before you pay. A paid check can be used once, only for the account it was priced for, and includes every part of the evidence view. A price is valid until midnight Central Time on the day it was given, and that price is held for you until then: it won’t go up, and if the price for that account goes down before you pay, you pay the lower price. Prices can differ between accounts and change over time. Getting a price does not run a check.

15. Final score

The final score shown for a check is calculated by automated systems. 20% of it is an artificial-intelligence assessment by the Grok model from xAI, and the other 80% combines the account profile score, the 30-day evidence score and the automated reading scores, each weighted by how confident it is, including automated readings of whether pictures were generated or altered by artificial intelligence. Information that is missing or cannot be read earns no points and lowers the final score, so an account that shares little publicly, or whose information X does not return, can score lower for that reason alone. The final score is described by one of six conclusions (Looks genuine, Mostly checks out, Mixed signals, Hard to verify, Warning signs found, Too new to tell), each shown with the reasons behind it. The final score and its conclusion are automated opinions and not facts or findings about any person. It can be wrong, and it can differ between checks of the same account as the account and the automated readings change.

The final score can differ from the AAE-1.0 score. Verification credentials are issued and verified only on the AAE-1.0 result. The restrictions on reliance and use in the Evidence view section apply to the final score in full.

16. All sales are final

All sales are final, except as stated here and where the law requires otherwise. If part of a paid check cannot be completed, for example pictures that could not be read, the full cost of that part, including the sales tax on it, is refunded automatically and immediately when the check finishes, to the card you paid with. Banks typically take 5-10 business days to show the refund. Apart from these automatic partial refunds, no refunds are given. Each picture gets one AI reading attempt and is never sent again.

This applies to every purchase made through the Service, including every paid check. The price of a check is shown before you pay, and by paying you agree that the purchase is final apart from those automatic partial refunds.

17. Keeping or deleting a reading

After each reading you can save a copy on your own device, delete the reading now, or do neither, in which case it stays in your history until you delete it. Deleting a reading is permanent and removes it and the evidence stored about it from our servers, except payment records, which we keep, and except while a legal or investigative retention hold applies. A copy saved on your device stays only in your browser, is not sent to us, and is not accessed by us without your explicit written consent; you are responsible for the security of your own device and browser. Details are in the Privacy Policy under Keeping or deleting a reading.

18. What prompted a check

You may say what prompted a check of another account and add a short note. You must give this honestly and must not use it to harass anyone or to include personal information about others. The answers in your report are automated opinions about the public evidence read in that check and not findings about any person, and your selection does not change the score or the conclusion.

19. Results are opinions, not facts

Every score, verdict, finding and explanation authentix gives is an automated opinion based on public information at one moment in time. It is not a statement of fact about anyone, not a finding that anyone did anything wrong, and not proof of who runs an account. Results can be wrong. Use them as one input among many, and check anything important yourself.

20. Not a consumer reporting agency

authentix is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or similar laws. You may not use any result to decide whether someone is eligible for a job, credit, insurance, housing or any other purpose covered by the FCRA (see section 2).

21. Prohibited uses

In addition to section 3, you may not use authentix or any result to: stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, bully or locate anyone; dox anyone or publish their personal information; discriminate against anyone, including on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability or any other protected trait; make an FCRA-covered eligibility decision; publicly accuse anyone of a crime or wrongdoing based on a result; or break any law. We may suspend accounts, refuse checks and keep records of misuse (see section 3 and the Privacy Policy).

22. Information from X and other sources

Results depend on information from X and other third parties, including AI providers such as xAI. We don’t control that information and don’t promise it is accurate, complete, current or available. Accounts and posts can change or disappear after a check.

23. Your responsibility, assumption of risk and release

You are solely responsible for how you use any result and for every decision or action you take based on it, including whether to trust, meet, pay, hire, date, contact, report or avoid anyone. You use results at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risks of meeting, dealing with or relying on any person or account, whether online or in person.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, authentix is not responsible for, and you release authentix and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates from, any claim, loss or harm arising from your or anyone else’s use or misuse of information obtained through authentix, including violence, physical injury, harassment, emotional distress, damage to property or reputation, and financial loss, and from the acts of any person or account you check or deal with. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”

Covenant not to sue. By accepting these Terms, you agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, not to sue or bring any other legal action or proceeding against authentix or the people released above for any reason arising from or related to the Service or any result. If the law does not allow you to give up a particular claim, that claim may be brought only as an individual claim in arbitration or small claims court under section 24, and is subject to the limits in sections 7 and 26.

24. Arbitration, class action waiver and jury waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights. You and authentix agree to resolve any dispute arising from or relating to authentix, these Terms or any result by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except as stated below. The arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator, and is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Fees are paid as those rules provide. The arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live, or in Tarrant County, Texas.

Class action and jury waiver. You and authentix may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. You and authentix each waive any right to a jury trial.

Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property or of the Service.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing kellyhorak@authentix-account.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with your name, your X handle and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn’t affect the rest of these Terms. If this section is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to the courts named in section 11, and the class action waiver still applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

25. Severability, waiver and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, it will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law and the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a part of these Terms isn’t a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer are the whole agreement between you and authentix about the Service.

Some laws don’t allow certain warranty exclusions, damage limits, releases or waivers, or protect consumers in ways a contract can’t change. Where that applies, our protections apply only to the fullest extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our own negligence where the law forbids that limit, or any other right you have that cannot be waived by law.

27. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we change the disclosure version above and ask you to approve the new version before your next check.
